Three Dimensional Painting

 Inventors Max Bogue and Peter Dilworth have invented a unique pen that draws in the air.

A colorful spool of plastic thread is fed into the pen.

The thread is then extruded as heated plastic that cools and solidifies instantly as it exits the tip.

This allows solid 3D structures to be drawn on any surface or from any surface into the air.

The pen, called a 3Doodler, weights approximately 7 ounces (198 g) and is 7 inches (17.7 cm) long. It requires no technical knowledge or software and plugs into an electrical outlet.

Max and Peter have received over 2.2 million dollars worth of advanced orders for their three dimensional printing pen.

They expect to fulfill those orders and launch the product in the fall of this year.

The co-inventors met while working for WowWee, a company based in Hong Kong that develops consumer technologies.

Peter consulted WowWee as an independent inventor. He had previously worked on robotics at MIT and contributed to a number of innovations including the infamous Uno Dicycle motorcycle.

Max was an R&D project manager with WowWee and has extensive experience in bringing products to market.

A Software Can Judge Your Mood Through Your Photos

A new 'mood-judging' software developed by an Indian-origin scientist can pick out the happiest snaps from a wedding or help you choose gleeful photos for your Facebook profile. 

The software by Abhinav Dhall at the Australian National University in Canberra and colleagues analyses all the faces in a photo to give the shot an overall "mood score". 

The team used face tracking software to analyse the smiles of the faces in a group by noting the positions of nine spots on the face such as the corners of the mouth and eyes. 

A machine learning algorithm, trained on photos that had been pre-labelled by humans, then used this data to give each face a smile intensity score, 'New Scientist' reported. 

The team also programmed the system to incorporate information from volunteers, who assessed how important the intensity of any individual's smile was to the overall mood score of a photo. 

Those who were standing near the centre of a picture were given a stronger weighting, for example, while partially obscured faces were less influential. 

When asked to gauge the happiness level of a photo, the system only deviated from the opinion of a human by around 7 per cent. 

Dhall said the aim is to be able to assess the overall mood of a group from a single shot. By looking at a sequence of frames in a video, it could even gauge the mood of a crowd in real time. 

"If the mood score goes down over the time, we can assume that the group are getting angry. It could also be used to view albums on Facebook by arranging photos so the happiest ones are shown first, for example," said Dhall.

WASHINGTON: Researchers in Sweden have developed a new technique where you can charge your devices anywhere without electricity, provided there is a water source nearby. Just add a spoonful and get instant power, anytime anywhere. 

Handy for anyone who spends time away from electricity, the small, lightweight PowerTrekk could power critical devices for warfighters and aid workers deployed to remote areas of the world, Fox News reported. 

Developed by a team in Sweden's KTH Royal Institute of Technology and made by MyFC, it's the world's first water-activated charging device that powers using fresh or salt water, the developers claimed. It can extend battery life up to 3 watts. 

So if you take an iPhone, the charge would be enough for between 25 and 100 per cent of its battery capacity. Any convenient water can be harvested for power, from a kitchen faucet through to a puddle in the jungle. 

Solar charging can be affected by the weather and the position of the sun, of course, and not hugely helpful if your urgent power shortage hits at night. Water charging isn't hindered by these external factors. Even in a desert, a spoonful of water from your thermos can give you power. 

The new device leverages the team's more than 15 years of research on micro fuel cell technology and small flat Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cells at the Department of Applied Electrochemistry at KTH. 

To use the PowerTrekk charger, you fill-up water compartment with about one tablespoon, close the lid and connect it to the electronic device with a USB cable. It starts charging automatically as the water inside interacts with a small disposable metal disc causing hydrogen gas to be released. 

When the gas combines with oxygen it converts chemical energy into electrical energy. While in many ways fuel cells are similar to batteries, they are different in that electrodes do not become consumed making them finite. 

Instead provided water and air is provided to the electrodes, these fuel cells will run. Very green power, water vapor is the only by-product. 

Currently, Powertrekk works with devices like cell and smartphones, digital cameras, iPods and GPS. The company is looking into developing their fuel cells to function for larger devices like laptops.

Create Nameless Folder

You can create nameless folder in any version of windows by following these steps :-

1. Select any file and folder
2. Rename it with Alt+0160(While still holding the Alt key, type the numbers 0160 from the keyboard)
3. The File or Folder will be of without name


Note: The numbers must be typed from the numerpad of your keyboard. i.e the number keys present on the right side of the keyboard and not from the number keys present above the top of character keys.
